It is with deep regret we announce the Active Duty Death of Captain Thomas Zub, Union County HazMat FMBA Local 99. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Walter Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Road, Clark, NJ 07066 from 4pm - 8pm. 

Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at Walter Johnson Funeral Home beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.

DCA Opens Application Period for the American Rescue Plan Firefighter Grant Program

he New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ (DCA) Division of Local Government Services (DLGS) and Division of Fire Safety (DFS) today announced that the application period is open for the American Rescue Plan Firefighter Grant Program, which will help local and regional fire departments in New Jersey provide first responders with proper protective, cleaning, and sanitization equipment. The application announcement comes on the heels of Governor Murphy appropriating $10 million from the American Rescue Plan State Fiscal Recovery Funds last month to support the purchase of firefighter equipment during this time of heightened community need.


First Responder Partnership Health Center Dedicated Solely to First Responders and Their Families

The First Responder Partnership Health Center (FRPHC) recently opened in Hamilton, near the intersection of I-195 and the Turnpike. It offers same day appointments for the widest range of primary care services available onsite anywhere in New Jersey (doctor visits, labs, X-rays, physical therapy, chiropractic, behavioral health and medications). It also has tele-medicine capabilities for those not living or working in the area. Copays are waived for those covered by the State Health Benefits Plan.
