Lubin wins PFRS Pension Board Trustee Election!
On December 21st, 2018, Matt Lubin was joined by President Ed Donnelly, Executive VP Wayne Wolk, Secretary Rick Myers, Central District VP Tim Duetsch, and Cranford Fire Officers Delegate Leo Schafer; at the NJ Division of Pension and Benefits for the results of Active Fire Representative to the new Pension Board. The vendor announced that Matt Lubin won the election by nearly 500 votes.
2019 SHBP Aetna Medicare Advantage Information
Effective January 1, 2019, the SHBP will no longer offer Medicare Advantage (MA) plans through Horizon’s NJ DIRECT10 (PPO) or NJ DIRECT15 (PPO) plans. Retirees previously enrolled in these plans will be automatically transferred to a corresponding Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO ESA plan. No application is necessary and no other action is required by retirees. Affected members will receive correspondence directly from the plans.
PFRS Pension board of Trustees Election
P.L. 2018, c. 55 (Chapter 55), established a new Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS) Board of Trustees which will replace the current PFRS Board of Trustees, effective February 1, 2019. The Board of Trustees has the general responsibility for the operation of the PFRS under the provisions of N.J.S.A. 43:16A-13. The Board meets monthly. Our NJ FMBA endorsed ACTIVE candidate is Matt Lubin from Cranford Local 237.
