Pascrell Supports Legislation to fix Social Security WEP Provision

Congressman Bill Pascrell will be holding a press conference on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in regards to Major Federal Grants and Benefits Bill for NJ First Responders. The event will take place at Paterson City Hall, 155 Market Street, Paterson, NJ 07505 at noon. 

Congressman Bill Pascrell is a cosponsor of the Social Security 2100 Act, which will finally repeal WEP and GPO provisions, ensuring retiring first responders get a fair shake. 

He is also a cosponsor of the Public Servants Protection and Fairness Act, which will reform WEP provisions for future retirees, while offering meaningful relief to current WEP retirees. This would ensure our first responders across the country can retire with the security and dignity they deserve. 

As a senior member of the Ways and Means Committee, Congressman Bill Pascrell is committed to working to pass legislation ensuring our retiring first responders are never again unfairly penalized by the onerous WEP provisions.
