2021 NJ FMBA Valor Awards Winners Announced

 

The New Jersey State FMBA proudly hosts an annual awards presentation in April to recognize members of the organization who have gone beyond the overall call of duty in their communities to earn the title of “hero”. In addition, we also recognize several other Service Award recipients. These include a Humanitarian Award, the George Steele Award for Media, named after past NJ FMBA Secretary George Steele, The Mark Virag Brotherhood Award winner, named for past NJ FMBA  Sergeant at Arms Mark Virag, and the Scott Garber Service Award, named for past NJ FMBA Trustee Chairman Scott Garber. The applications are reviewed by a panel of NJ FMBA members and Corporate Sponsors to determine the recipients. 

The 2022 Valor Awards Dinner will be held on April 23rd, 2021 at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ


Civil Service 1st and 2nd Level Supervisor Updates

The CSC has announced updates regarding the upcoming oral examination currently in cycle for 1st level Supervisor in addition to an announcement about the oral examination for the current cycle for 2nd Level Supervisor.


2022 Cooked and Uncorked Event Canceled

Due to the current health and safety concerns, the 2022 Cooked and Uncorked event has been canceled. A new date for the event will be announced in the near future. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hosting this event again soon!


2021 Earnest O. Ousley Scholarship Application Period is Open

The NJ FMBA Earnest O. Ousley Memorial Scholarship application period for the academic year 2021-2022 is open. Deadline for submissions is Monday, February 28, 2022 at 4pm. Four $1,500 scholarships will be awarded, renewable for four years, up to a total of $6,000 per recipient. All high school seniors who are the children or grandchildren of Active NJ FMBA members, including Local 500. Also eligible are the children of deceased Active NJ FMBA members who were members at the time of their death.  See application for additional details and requirements. The application can be found at njfmba.org/scholarships
